Around Town #4

I <3 Final Fridays in Lawrence! Lots of people (of all ages!!) and LOTS of great art, great food, and great times! For February’s Final Friday, we headed downtown early. Camden brought his own camera and took pics of whatever he wanted throughout the evening. You can check out what he captured HERE (warning: there are many pictures with walls, shoes, and bottoms, but then again, that is his view). I also stuck in some links below where his pictures correspond to mine. We stopped by Diane’s Artisan Gallery and got to chat with one of their beloved artists, Makenna Bartel. She makes beautiful jewelry and even gave us a quick run down of the steps she takes to make her jewelry. Camden and I also enjoyed sharing  a macaroon while we were there and they were VERY tasty!  After that we ventured over to Art Center and checked out the Hay Wire exhibit. While there, we stopped and talked to Mike Anderson from Lawrence’s Not So Late Show and even grabbed a quick paparazzi picture. 😀  We enjoyed dinner at India Palace (Naan, Mutter Paneer, and a Mango Lassi – yumm!!) and then ended the evening with coffee (of course an Iced Grasshopper for me) at La Prima Tazza and made it back to the car just as the sprinkles were starting. It was a fun family evening and I look forward to the final Friday in March. 😀

A quaint little corner at The Signs of Life Bookstore.

Could this picture get any better!? Definitely Caption Contest worthy!

Make sure you check out Makenna’s Etsy shop!

Cute kid’s shirt hanging in the Dusty Bookshelf. This is currently one of Camden’s favorite books.

At the Art Center, we enjoyed the Hay Wire exhibit!

Matt and I always enjoy watching Mike on the Not So Late Show! Tune in if you get the chance!

The raindrops began and confirmed that it was the perfect time to head home.
